History
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 at Howard University by twenty-two undergraduate women. These young women used their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. Our founders distinguished themselves by participating in the 1913 Women’s Suffrage March in Washington, D.C. at a time when both women and Blacks were often silenced.
